Walker Consultants has a long history of serving the Carolinas. In 1992, we were the prime designer for a parking structure at Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Not long after, we completed major projects with Duke Health and Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
Our Charlotte office opened in 2012, and we’re proud to offer the region our full range of planning, design, engineering, forensics, restoration, and building envelope consulting services.
Major airports, developers, hospitals, municipalities, and universities around the Carolinas have placed their trust in us. Contact us today to talk about how we can earn your trust, too.
Walker Consultants provided full parking design services for a new 1300-space passenger parking garage. Walker’s design services included parking planning, financial feasibility, functional design, access and revenue control consulting, structural engineering, and M/E/P engineering.
Planning & Mobility
Walker Consultants provided a comprehensive study to analyze parking demands and prepare recommendations for the Town of Hilton Head. This included regulations, strategies, capital improvements, collection of parking fees/fines, and associated financial models. A key recommendation was to establish a parking enterprise fund.
Restoration | Operations & Technology
Walker Consultants provided restoration consulting services for the elevated terminal access roadway at Piedmont Triad International Airport. This included developing construction documents to remove and replace deteriorated conditions on the 1,400 ft roadway, which was built in 1982. Detailed phasing plans maintained airport operations during construction. In addition, Walker provided specifications, procurement services, and installation administration for a Parking Access and Revenue Control System (PARCS) including License Plate Recognition (LPR) for the airport’s parking structure.
