Charles Hammond, Principal and Senior Restoration Consultant of Walker’s Austin office, has been awarded the Structural Engineers Association of Texas (SEAoT) Distinguished Service Award. The SEAoT Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to an individual in recognition of their outstanding service to the organization.

A member since 2008, Charles has been diligently and continuously serving the SEAoT in volunteer roles since 2011. He has served at the local level for the Austin chapter as Membership Director, Vice President, and President. Additionally, he has served at the state level as a State Board Director on behalf of the Austin Chapter, President-Elect, President, Past President, and currently as co-chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee.

Charles has been a regular contributor to the SEAoT Quarterly Journal where he most recently contributed an article on the safety of vehicular barriers for parking garages in the 2020-2021 Winter Journal. Charles has also made several presentations at SEAoT events on topics such as welding and extending the service life of concrete structures.
