Proactive accessibility observations at Heirloom at Torrey Pines
Heirloom at Torrey Pines cares for its residents like family, making a lasting and valuable impact in the community it serves. To uphold those values, the facility desired careful attention to accessibility throughout both residential and common-use areas.
During construction, the client needed to identify potential accessibility issues. Walker Consultants was hired and provided construction-phase accessibility observations, identifying any potential ADA and Fair Housing Act deficiencies to help the project team make appropriate decisions.

Walker performed the construction-phase observation to assess general conformance with accessibility design intent. These observations identified deficiencies against the 2010 ADA Standards, Fair Housing Act requirements, and applicable Southern Nevada building code accessibility provisions.
The complex consists of 190 residential units in eight configurations and an extensive collection of shared amenities. The four-story elevator residential building consists of common-use amenity spaces, including a great room, a fitness room, a lounge, a media room, a food pantry, a dog wash, a wellness room, a library, a salon, a laundry room, a pool, a barbecue area, and exterior courtyards.
