Perq Saves Time and Money
This new parking structure is the first to be built with Perq, a collaboration between Walker Consultants and Swinerton Builders. Perq includes around 90% of the design and engineering elements already complete, which reduces construction cost and duration.
The 5-level, 164,000 square foot parking structure contains 520 parking stalls and allows for future horizontal expansion. The structure uses post-tensioned, cast-in-place concrete slabs supported on concrete beams and columns. A moment frames lateral design eliminated interior shear walls, resulting in a more open, safer design.
Decorative metal fins and variations in the cast-in-place exterior walls give the structure visual appeal. There are 182 EV charging spaces with provisions for another 182 more. Rooftop photovoltaic panels capture energy from the sun to create electricity and satisfy local energy efficiency codes. There is also secure bike storage.
