Dodger Stadium was built in 1962 and seats 50,000 spectators. The stadium seating is constructed of precast concrete tread/risers forming the base for the seats.
The connections anchoring the precast panels to the primary structure were experiencing premature deterioration and localized failures. Additionally, the concrete slabs, seats and waterproofing systems were also exhibiting deterioration.
After completion of a comprehensive assessment, Walker designed repairs which were combined with a fast-track schedule to expedite $5.5 million of work to the seating elements.
