Hodges Stadium Waterproofing

LOCATION

Jacksonville, Florida

Walker Consultants provided building envelope consulting services for Hodges Stadium at the University of North Florida. The stadium is a multi-purpose facility built in 1999. The precast superstructure has precast seats and floors and seats 9,400. The facility has 30,000 square feet of occupied space, 38,000 square feet of seating, and 50,000 square feet of concourse.

Unfortunately, the stadium was experiencing water leakage through the seating area concourses, water ponding, and rusting handrail posts requiring urgent safety repairs. As a result, the Client engaged Walker to perform a condition appraisal to strategically define and prioritize the leak paths to phase repairs.

Water ponding

Walker’s appraisal and report provided the Client with a clearly defined repair program with a three-year implementation to address safety and comfort.
