HalfMoon Seminar: Parking Structure Design, Construction, and Maintenance
September 17, 2021 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm EDT
$289A seminar for HalfMoon Education presented by Nicholas Frezza, Assoc. AIA; David J. Vander Wal, PE; and Scott Ashley, PE, of Walker Consultants’ New York office
How much parking is really enough? What are the key considerations in planning new parking to be both cost-effective and user-friendly? When should owners start planning for repairs and maintenance? How will new technologies affect parking?
While there is no one-size-fits-all solution to parking needs, there are a number of strategies, techniques, and technologies that can improve the level of service of parking structures. In this seminar, you’ll learn about planning for structured parking, functional design of the striping layout and circulation system, building codes, accessible parking design (ADA), passive security, access and revenue control, guidance systems, different structural systems, designing for durability, designing for adaptive reuse, and parking maintenance, restoration, and repair.
Some of the information in this course will be tailored to codes in the state of New York, but most of the content will be applicable to all states.
You can earn credits for the course:
- Professional Engineers – 6.5 PDHs
- Architects – 6.5 HSW CE Hours
