Has the average size of vehicles changed?

Mary Smith, a Senior Vice President in Walker’s Indianapolis office, has completed an analysis of car and light truck sales in 2011 and 2012 and presented the findings in this white paper, “Car Sales 2012”.  While media, particularly those with environmental orientation, continue to tout particular sales trends, from a parking perspective the size of vehicles is not changing much, nor is there a significant change in the size of the 85th percentile vehicle (in the range from smallest to largest) which is used as the “design vehicle” for parking purposes. Therefore there is not any reason to change recommended parking dimensions at this time.  Download her white paper to read more about this subject.
