WALKER was recently asked to review the facade of a multi-story building where the tenant noticed that the exterior curtain wall system had pulled away from the building, causing a substantial gab between the inside face of the curtain wall system and floor and ceiling finishes.

Not knowing if the situation was time-sensitive, WALKER promptly investigated the situation and quickly determined the cause. After determining the cause, the emergency situation was stabilized within a few hours of assessment. The project thereafter developed into a conditions assessment and restoration project that evaluated the remainder of the building’s facade to determine if other areas were at risk of similar movement.
