Walker received two top awards at the 2014 Texas Parking and Transportation Association conference held in Houston last month. This was the 1st Annual Awards Program for TPTA so we were proud to take away two of the four top project awards!
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport Holistic Parking Strategy won the award Best Parking Program in recognition of projects demonstrating outstanding conception, originality, and application in design, operation, management, and construction. Our team developed a holistic parking strategy for the DFW International Airport as it planned for significant future growth.
Chesapeake Energy Corporation Central Car Park won the award Best New Parking Structure in recognition of projects demonstrating creative parking and cost saving design. Walker was the structural engineer and functional designer on the project under Elliott & Associates out of Oklahoma City. With a soccer field, track, workout center and entertainment stage atop the below grade parking garage, this was a significant addition to the overall pedestrian friendly campus.
